Life in Belize

We were excited that Aunt Hilda could come visit us for a week in February. She did get to see a toucan in the wild and also saw Holler monkeys up in the tree. To bad they were just laying there not moving around. The toucan was seen only about five miles from where we live.
Because Phyllis volunteered her time to come for six weeks to help out with Denisha, Cory and I were able to take time away and show Aunt Hilda some sights in this country. We traveled north to Blue Creek where she had two cousins that we went to visit as well as some friends in Shipyard.
One day we went to Mountain Pine Ridge for a swim in the river to cool off.

About Us

Why We Are Here...
After serving the Lord for seven years in Mexico, Brian and Margaret Mooney moved on in response to God's call to minister in Belize. A little Caribbean enclave, formally known as British Honduras, Belize borders Mexico to the north, Guatemala to the west, and Honduras to the south. Belizeans are largely professing Christians, but nominalism and syncretism are common: the Spanish-speaking immigrants with their superstitions and superficiality; the Mayans with their underlying paganism; the Garifuna with their black magic; and many old colony Mennonites relying on their cultural and religious heritage as a means of salvation — each needs a culturally relevant and sensitive presentation of the gospel. On November 10, 2007, Brian Mooney passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His beloved wife Margaret, and son Cory, continue to minister in Belize as missionaries.
